Emeli Theander (1984, Sweden, lives in Berlin) creates works on canvas and paper. Each painting is an enigma: games of mirrors, characters in strange postures, disarticulated ballets of ghostly figures, sets of optical illusions, quotations from classical paintings leaving an impression of strange familiarity... The line is soft, caressing, and the colors sweet, but the atmosphere is full of a venomous weirdness.

Born in Sweden in 1984. She lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
